Community Scholarship

The Irvine Forward Foundation Community Scholarship, launched in 2022, aims to acknowledge the efforts of high school seniors who have shown exceptional leadership and service to the community of Irvine. This scholarship recognizes students that exemplify a strong balance between academic performance, leadership experience, and community involvement. It serves as a recognition of the outstanding contributions made by these students, who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of those around them. The scholarship is specifically designed to support graduating high school seniors and provide them with the resources needed to continue their education and pursue their future goals. By honoring their hard work and dedication, we aspire to inspire the next generation of community leaders.

Student Criteria

The scholarship program outlined below requires applicants to meet specific student criteria

Be a resident of or attend school in the City of Irvine

02

Graduating high school senior

03

GPA of 3.5 or higher

04

Demonstrate high moral character

05

The applicants must demonstrate leadership and service to the community

Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, religion, or creed

Application Components

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must provide all of the following:

01.

Written Essay

Relate how your leadership and community service has been used for the betterment of
Irvine.

Maximum length: 600 words.

02.

Writing Prompt 1

Write about your academic interests and educational plans, and how they
are aligned to your long term goals. Include how you would use the scholarship, if awarded.

Length: Between 350-500 words.

03.

Writing Prompt 2

Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps
you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic
achievement?

Maximum 350 words.

04.

3 Letters of Recommendation

  • One that supports “Leadership & Community Service”
  • One that supports “Academic Plans”
  • One that supports “Character Reference”
